Privacy Policy
The Committee to Elect Kevin E Martin ("the Committee," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website. We respect the privacy of everyone who visits it. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using this website or submitting information through it, you agree to the practices described here.
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- Your name, email address, mailing address, and telephone number.
- The content of any message, comment, or response you submit through a form on this site, including what you tell us you expect from your representative.
- If you make a contribution: your occupation, the name of your employer, and payment information processed by our payment provider.
- Any other information you volunteer, such as volunteer interests or event RSVPs.
Information collected automatically
When you visit this site, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information including your IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the website that referred you. We may use cookies and similar technologies to do this.
How we use your information
- To send you campaign news, updates, event invitations, and volunteer opportunities.
- To respond to messages and questions you send us.
- To organize events, volunteers, and campaign activities.
- To process contributions and meet our reporting obligations.
- To operate, maintain, and improve this website.
- To comply with applicable law.
Federal disclosure of contributions
Contribution information cannot be kept private. Federal law requires political committees to report to the Federal Election Commission the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of any individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in an election cycle. That information becomes part of the public record and is published by the FEC at fec.gov. We are required to collect and report it and cannot treat it as confidential.
Email and text messages
If you provide your email address, you consent to receive email from the Committee. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, you consent to receive campaign-related text messages, which may be sent using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any contribution or purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help.
We do not share text-messaging opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing, except with vendors and service providers performing work on our behalf, or where disclosure is required by law.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who perform work for the campaign, such as email delivery, payment processing, data hosting, and analytics, and who are obligated to protect it.
- Legal requirements. With the Federal Election Commission or other authorities where required by law, and in response to lawful requests such as subpoenas or court orders.
- Protection of rights. Where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of the Committee or others.
Cookies and analytics
This site may use cookies and third-party analytics and advertising services to understand how visitors use the site and to reach supporters online. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of this site work.
Third-party links
This site may link to websites we do not control, including contribution processors and social media platforms. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from email at any time, reply STOP to end text messages, or contact us at the address below to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to request that we delete it. We will honor those requests to the extent the law allows, subject to recordkeeping obligations that require us to retain certain contribution information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
